Cross Stitch Patterns
the only downfall of the perler bead patterns is that it doesn't tell you what colors to use. you have to guess what colors to use. don't get me wrong, the patterns are in color, there just isn't a list of what colors to use, so you're guessing the shades. and for someone like me who's color blind, it can be hard to pick the correct colors that have to be all mixed together. but other than that, i love the perler bead patterns for cross stitching patterns. :)

C2E2 2015
-saw amanda connor a comic book artist. didn't get her signature, but i got to see her. which is cool.
-saw chad l colman from the walking dead. my cousin got his signature and a photo with him.
-saw tons of costumes. a cool spy vs spy costume. it was a father son duo who did it. saw a cool mystique costume. saw a cool white bandages 5th element constume. saw tons of spiderman, captain america, stormtroopers and others.
-hung out with my two cousins. for one cousin it was her 3 time coming with me. for another cousin it was her 2nd time coming with me.
-got to hang out with two other friends of mine at the convention also. always nice to see more people at the convention.
-i dressed up in my wheel of time green ajah shawl one day and another day i dressed up as captain america.
-brought my spiderman bag with me to hold everything and got some compliments from it. my sister made me the bag and it's perfect for the convention. hehe.
-bought the offical pint glass from C2E2. it had the logo of the beer they had created for the convention. it was called galaxy hero. i didn't drink the beer with the same name, but i made sure i bought the pint glass. hehe. every convention i go to, i always get some kind of cup/shot glass/coffee mug. it's just a tradition i have. sometimes its an offical thing. sometimes it's captain america. hehe.
-i bought a card game called chrononauts. i actually bought an expansion set. i have the original card set already, but i saw an expansion and i had to get it!
-almost got a tattoo but there was a $100 fee and the tattoo i wanted wouldn't cost anywhere close to that if i just went to a local tattoo shop. so i decided not to get one.
overall had a good time. walked tons and tons. my feet hurt like crazy on sunday. hehe. check out my pictures from the weekend. will definitely go again next year. it's a nice local convention to go to. i suggest for all to go.

cross stitch
i've finished a couple cross stitch projects and just wanted to share. the first is a baby bib i made for my soon to be niece. my brother and sister in law are expecting in march and i made this bib for them.
this second one is a lady bug i made for a friend for her birthday. she is crazy about lady bugs. she has a whole bathroom that is all lady bugs. and her desk at work is decorated with lady bugs. so i made this into a magnet. she has it up at work. hehe. here it is.
if you want to see more of what i've made here's the website i post all my projects to.

c2e2 2014
-saw a bunch of cool costumes. my favorite was the phantom of the opera. there were three of them. one was the phantom, one was christine diane, and one was meg. so very cool.
-for one of my cousins, it was her first time ever going to a convention. so i'm really glad that i got to be part of the first time for her. hehe. she said she had a good time, hopefully that is true. she seemed like she did. and sounded excited about going again next year.
-at one place in the convention you could pay $5 to go to a reptile conservation and for the 5 bucks you got to take your picture with a huge python. so me and my cousin both paid the money and then took our picture an albino python. a huge albino python. it was awesome!
-i only went one day this year. sadly. i had just started my new job and didn't want to take too many days off. so i wore my captain america costume. which is now complete. i really don't have any additions to make to it (unlike my steampunk costume which still needs a couple of things).
-my friend melissa got some books signed by some authors at the convention. she was really excited about that.
-all in all it was an awesome time. if you want to see my pictures, here you go.

Blackhawks vs Cunucks. A night of hockey.
Ok. So last night Ashley, Trent (Ashley's bf) and I went to the hawks/cunucks game. I had such a great time. Here's my night...
The seats...
Trent hooked us up with some completely sweet seats. We were in the second row in the 100 level. Or if you'd like a better description, second row from the glass/ice. And we were right behind one of the goals (the one the hawks shot at 2 out of the 3 periods, OT, SO). We were right next to wear the zamboni comes on and off of the ice. And when we left our section, the hawks store was right across the way. So we didn't have to fight the crowds to get there. So needless to say, our seats rocked!
So let's back it up a little bit. Getting there...
We had decided to make a night of it. We drove out to Chicago pretty close to right after work. For the game/her bday Trent gave Ashley a Kane jersey. :) (I wore my sisters signed jersey. The team from the 90s signed it.) We got to Chicago and parked the car at Trent's work. Then we walked across the street from his work and ate at the bottom lounge. Cool place. While we were there we found out that they offer a free shuttle bus to and from the game. So we decided to take that and not have to pay for a cab. So totally sweet. We met some other fans of the hawks that were going to the game, they were pretty nice. Ashley and I had decided to make posters so we filled them out at the bottom lounge. The cool thing about the posters is that they were dry erase boards! So we could change our message throughout the game. Mine said: 'Messier guaranteed a win, could you Toews?' Ashley's said: 1st game/bday. All I want is a hat trick p-Kane 88.'
Right before the game...
We were dropped off at the stadium and while we were walking I got to see the Hull and Makita statues. That was cool. I had only seen those on tv. We walked right in the stadium and went to our seats. Such sweet seats (as I've described in detail earlier. hehe)! The Cunucks were warming up in front of us. When they would slap shot the puck and it would hit the glass, it made me and Ashley jump the first couple of times. Hehe.Trent seemed to have handled it better than is. Hehe. When they were done, the ice crew was taking care of the ice and was handing out pucks that were used to warm up with. So Ashley and I got pucks. So sweet! The stadium rocked! We got to listen to 2 national anthems (the Cunucks are from Canada)! And as is tradition with a blackhawks game, everyone screamed and made noise during the US national anthem. Side bar- I've heard some people say that it is disrespectful to do that. I completely disagree. Not only are we cheering for our team, we are cheering for our country. And cheering for everything that there is of hockey and our country. So yeah, those are my thoughts on that. Side bar done.- the video and music they play right before the hawks come out on the ice, so cool. Some great classic images. Chelios, Makita, Hull and the list goes on. They also had recent images of things like Shaw with blood dripping down his face holding up the Stanley cup - the perfect hockey image. Sums up everything about hockey. So at this point I'm totally jacked and ready for some hockey!
The game...
The puck was dropped and I don't think I stopped screaming or yelling at any point until the end. Hehe. Well I might be exaggerating but you get the idea. :) Because of where we were sitting we had such a great view of them against the glass. It was awesome to see their actual faces. There were a couple big hits on the glass right in front of us. So awesome! Got to see Toews do a face off right in front of us! Got to see Kane handle the puck like no one else. Saw Sharp right up close, yes he's as beautiful up close as he is on tv. :) We totally saw the hawks first goal. It was scored right in front of us! It was so awesome to actually see the puck slide in! Sadly we did see the Cunucks first goal too. Still cool to see a goal so close up. Ashley and I got on tv. Its mainly Ashley, which I'm very ok with that. Ashley is holding up her sign, which at that point said 'I love p-Kane 88'. But you can't see all of that. You just see the 'I love'. Still cool though. You just see me laughing right next to her. Hehe. The game was awesome! The people right in front of us was a father and son. They were supper nice! Season ticket holders, for they knew everyone around them. You could see it was something that they did together all the time. What makes it heart warming is that the son is autistic. So awesome! The game went into OT and then it went to a shoot out. Holy crap I thought I was going to have a heart attack. What made it awesome is that the hawks were trying to score at the goal we were sitting behind. It was so cool to see! Sadly we lost the SO and so lost the game. But holy crap, the game was complete and total fun!
All of this shenanigans was Ashley and Trent's first game. Can you believe it?! I've been to a bunch, but this is on the top of my list of best hawks games. It was just so cool!
Here are the pictures.

Pinball wizard
So this past Friday my work had its Xmas party. We went to one of the nurses house (I work in a Dr office).well her house was amazing! It was huge and beautiful! Well one of the amazing things about it is that the basement is a man cave. And this is the coolest man cave I've ever seen. I can't describe it. But I'll post the photos. All I can say about it is: pinball wizard.

Letterboxing
Melissa and I went letterboxing this Saturday which was tons of fun. I got Melissa into it when we went to ren faire this year. So it was fun to go with her. We did a Halloween themed find. We hiked around a cemetery to find 8 different stamps. While we were out there I finished my first log book. That book ranged from the years 2009-2013. It had about 70 different stamps in it. So that was a big moment. I'm excited to fill my next log book. We shall see how long it takes me. :) Here's Melissa doing her thing.

Renaissance faire
Yesterday I went to the Bristol, wi renaissance faire with my friend Melissa and her friend Jamie. Melissa dressed up in a cool corset and skirt. Jamie and I just wore 'normal' clothes. Although, I did wear my astrolabe which I got at ren faire in 2010.
I had a good time hanging out with the girls. We saw the barley balanced show and the last joust of the day. I bought a cool cigerret holder that is made out of meerschaum. And I got a cool bullet holder that will wrap around my leg. I got that for my Steampunk costume (I can't wait to wear it with the costume!). I did stuff my face while I was there with a turkey leg that was the size of my fist. Hehe.
While we were at ren faire I introduced the ladies to Letterboxing. We found three stamps. One really Melissa found it not the rest of us. Hehe.
Melissa seemed to really like Letterboxing and wants to go find more stamps! So I told her I'd be happy to go out with her to find new ones! You know me, I love finding letterboxes. :)
Here are some photos from the day. me stuffing my face. melissa with jamie. melissa and i. a little act that was performed right in front of us. some of the letterboxes we found.

c2e2
here's a random breakdown of the weekend. in no particular order:
-this year i dressed up in costume for the first time. friday i dressed up as captain america. it was cool for it was the first time people stopped me and asked for my picture. which is always a compliment. means the hard work that went into the costume paid off. saturday i wore my steampunk costume. my sister made the harness i wear for that, so i was excited to display it for the first time. my sister can sew that is for sure! hehe. no one asked for my photo in my steampunk costume, but i did get some compliments about it.
-got to see my friend jimmy. he was my boss when i worked at a comic shop, so it was cool to see him.
-got to meet some of the people that work for challenger comics. i have been chatting with them on twitter, so it was nice to put a face to the group. all of them were very nice.
-the swag i got this year was: captain america piggy bank - which really it's just a nice cheap bust of captain america. captain america/red skull salt and pepper shakers. a signed poster from cbldf of lil depressed boy. a captain america travel mug. i'm very excited to take that to work. no one will confuse my drink for theirs. hehe. a really sweet necklace. a comic that jae lee did the cover for. i love his art work, he is amazing! a replica river song journal. i'm going to use it as my own journal.
-i got robert atkins signature. he's known for his g.i. joe stuff. but he also has done some marvel work. he drew a really cool cover for spiderman.
-saw some really cool costumes. harley quinn, the joker, batman, iron man, steampunk, dr who, captain america and so many more.
-i saw one of the dr's i work for there. it was cool to see him outside of work. you never think of the dr's as 'normal people' but really they are. hehe.
-the 501st legion: vader's fist were there. they are always at dragon con so it was cool to see them at c2e2. they are people who dress up in exact replica's of star wars empire troopers. their costumes are always pretty sweet.
so over all i had a great time. i was on my feet all weekend and now i'm ready to just lay down for many many hours. hehe.

the move
i'm excited about my new place for a couple of reasons:
- i have a bigger room, so that is always nice.
- i now have a desk, which before i was using a tv tray as my desk. i posted the pictures of my new desk (the one with all the comic book characters). so i'm also excited about my desk just looking totally awesome! hehe.
- i have a small cabinet dedicated to all of my crafting stuff/hobbies. for i have multiple crafts/ hobbies: i cross stitch, scrapbook, make random things, write, do photography. so i have all of those supplies in this cabinet. i'm very excited about that for before i just had everything scattered in different boxes and bags.
- i have to say i'm happy that i can now have glutton in my apartment. my last roommate was a celiac and that means she is allergic to wheat/barley/rye (all have glutton). so when i moved in with her i agreed that there would be no glutton in the apartment. and i was fine with that. but i have to say i'm glad that i don't have to worry about that any more. i don't know how people deal with that allergy all their lives. power to those people. so i went grocery shopping for the first time for the new place today and i was excited to be able to buy 'normal' food; ie: bread, ceral, pop tarts.
- there's a ledge that runs all the way around my room and i've been able to put most of my nick-nacks and picture frames on it. so that's been nice. before i just put all of those things on my book shelves.
- there's a living room. my last place we didn't have a living room. how we set up the apartment was that ashley's room was the living room and then i had the actual bedroom as my bedroom. we used the kitchen/dinning area as the living room. so in my new place there is a living room and i'm very excited about it. i got a couch from my cousin to put in there and i'm excited to just sit in there and read my books.
