christmas cross stitch work in progress

so i am working on a project for my mom for christmas and this is what i have so far. i've been working on it off an on for the last couple of months. but now that it is the middle of november it's go time. all free time is going to this project. here's what i have so far and then here's a picture of what it will look like at the end.

the best halloween costume

so i saw this on imgur and i thought it was the greatest halloween costume for a child! show our kids that it's ok to want to be a princess but it's also ok to want to be a supreme court judge! the feminist inside of me loves this!

A morning in Chicago

as the irish girl that i am, i went to chicago this morning in celebration of st. patricks day. i didnt go for the drinking or for the parade. i went for the river dying. i had never seen that before. it was pretty cool. here are some pictures. also i heard a story that the guys who do it will go out after they've colored the river and they will sweat green. thats how strong the dye is. 

Pinball wizard

So this past Friday my work had its Xmas party. We went to one of the nurses house (I work in a Dr office).well her house was amazing! It was huge and beautiful! Well one of the amazing things about it is that the basement is a man cave. And this is the coolest man cave I've ever seen. I can't describe it. But I'll post the photos. All I can say about it is: pinball wizard.

Halloween cross stitch

So my precious moments project is put on hold. I got a new Halloween cross stitch magazine and I just HAVE to make some of its designs. But I will continue with the precious moments project. Here's my current project. I love it's simplisticness.

 

The next one I'm gonna make is an Edgar Allen Poe the raven piece. And really that's why I bought the magazine. Hehe. The rest of the stuff in the magazine is just a bonus. I just wanted to start with something small first before I did the raven.

memorial day

it is wonderful to have a three day weekend. but one must remember why we have this long weekend. it is memorial day this coming monday. and i would like to take the time to remember those who have given the ultimate price. thank you to those who have died defending this country and other countries around the world. thank you for all that you have done. you are remembered not only this monday but every day of the year. thank you.

my weekend

this weekend i went to my dads and it was a nice weekend. i did a bunch of different things.

friday i got a new tattoo (check my flickr for the picture). it is my fourth. the tattoo says: dovie'andi se tovya sagain. which is from the books the wheel of time. one of the charactors says it all the time. it means: it's time to toss the dice. the idea is that it's time to take a chance. i like it for, if you don't take a chance you won't get very far in life. i have the tattoo on the outer side of my arm. also on friday i planted my very first traditional letterbox. i have a traveler out there but i hadn't planted a traditional one yet. i found a tree that had three trunks growing together and so there was a spot in the middle of the trunk. i hide the letterbox there. here's the link i have for everyone to go and find it. if you click on the clue button, it... well tells you the clue. hehe.

saturday was a calm day with no big adventours. went shopping and just relaxed.

sunday we celebrated mothers day for ryan and i won't be there on actual mothers day. i will be with my mom and ryan will be back in AZ. during the day we went fishing. george and diana caught a fish (check my flickr for pictures). i didn't go fishing for i don't have my license yet. but the next time i'm up there i will. so i just sat on the dock and watched everyone else and took photos.

sorry that's a day late. hope everyone had a good day. i found a recipe on pinterest (such an awesome website) and it is super easy and delicious! i'm calling it a breakfast cup. it's bread/cheese/bacon/egg.
