#

i was at my mom's Superbowel party on sunday and my cousin told me a disturbing story. My cousin is a junior in high school and she said in her math class the teacher used the # sign. A student proceeded to ask her why she used the hashtag sign. the teacher explained to the kid that it wasn't the hashtag that it was the number symbol. i couldn't believe it when my cousin told me that. i was speechless. it just shows how much kids are on twitter. and how much social media is part of our society now. and how kids are today. sorry i just had to rant a little bit about that.

mia at the superbowl

so at the superbowl halftime show, mia 'flipped the bird' to the camera and it was shown live. i didn't watch the superbowl (for i don't have a tv - shocking i know) and didn't hear about it until the next day on yahoo's website. in the article on yahoo they made the comment that madonna could have been more edgy and she wasn't. but that mia's risky move wasn't very edgy at all.

i just want yahoo-news to make up their mind. what's edgy and what's not. maybe madonna didn't want to be edgy. but how is 'flipping the bird' not edgy enough? mia did it on live tv knowing that it would be shown for there is no time to block it out. the reason yahoo-news stated that this wasn't edgy enough, is because people won't really be talking about it the next day. and now it really isn't in the news anymore. but again, how is 'flipping the bird' on live tv not edgy enough? i'm just wondering what's edgy and what's not.
