the genius of south park is that it's amazing! hehe. no seriously, it's very brilliant. they stay on top of current events for the episodes are all made in america. and they do it in only a weeks time. the show air's on wednesday and the next day (thursday) they go back to the drawing board to do the next weeks show. where other shows like the simpson's, it has to be sent to asia to be drawn. then it's sent back to america to be approved and marked for any changes that need to be made. then it's sent back to asia to have those changes made. then it's sent back to america to be produced. that is alot of going back and forth. south park doesn't have to do any of that. the creates, actors, writers, artists are all in the same country and in the same building for about 16 weeks out of the year (they do about 16 episodes a season). for example: the penn state scandal has just happened. in this weeks episode of south park, they make jokes at the scandals expense. jokes way before the simpson's or family guy can do it.

besides staying on top of current events, south park is genius. not only is it about farts and swearing. it is also about some deep meaningful things. such as the idea of living many lives. kenny who dies all the time and what that means. also, the effect religion has on the society. where it can be taken too seriously and too far. for on the show they cannot show the imagine of the prophet mohammad but they can show jesus christ getting shit on. they also just make fun of society and the ridiculousness it can have. like in the short movie imagination land. trey and matt make fun of the government by saying that the imaginations of the country with terrorism has run wild. and it has in the sense we see terrorism in everyone and in everything. but don't get it wrong. there isn't just all this seriousness. it is also about farts, poop and swearing. hehe.
