the two that were together were dr who stamps - one was a picture of the weeping angel and then the other was the words 'don't blink'. these stamps were hidden at a cemetery - which is just perfect for the weeping angle. i was the first to find these stamps; which is just awesome. i have never been the first person before. so i got a little card with a angle charm saying i get bragging rights of being the first. hehe.
here's where the first stamp of the dr who series was hidden.
this is the card and angel i received for being the first to find the don't blink letterboxes.
the other stamp that i found was at a veterans memorial site in the
suburbs of chicago. it was an amazing memorial. they had statues for
everyone possible who could have served. there was a statue of a soldier
and a dog. there were stone-heads for every war that america has ever
fought in - from the american revolution to the golf war. on each stone
there was the name of the war, the years it was fought how many soldiers
fought and how many soldiers died. for the civil war it had numbers for
both the confederate army and the union. and the memorial doesn't stop
there. they had monoliths for every branch of the service, pow/mia and
for the women branches that were created before the women were
integrated in the rest of the branches. the stamp i found was the image of the pow/mia symbol.
here's an over view of the veterans memorial site. the smaller round stone's are the war stones.
here's one of the monoliths - the marines
the pow/mia monolith
the female branches monolith
the dr who stamps.
