national holocaust remembrance day

today is national holocaust remembrance day. not only should we remember the 6 million jews that were killed, but we should also remember everyone else that were killed in the streets and in the death camps. and so that brings the number of people killed somewhere between 11-17 million people.

i learned in my holocaust class that the story for this photo is that: these children were liberated from Auschwitz and were asked what their names were. the answer they gave was just lifting up their sleeve to show the numbers that was tattooed on them.
