before i get into the list i will say this list comes from yahoo-news so take it with a grain of salt. also i haven't played most of these games so i don't know anything about the relationships. i just found it interesting that yahoo-news would list this and so i thought i would share.
-MARIO/PRINCESS PEACH -- For over 25 years, Mario has been saving Princess Peach from the clutches of Bowser. Now that’s commitment.
-LINK / ZELDA -- Though the graphical treatments and narrative back stories seem to change from game to game, Link and Zelda were clearly meant to be together.
-PAC-MAN / MS. PAC-MAN -- We were all there to witness the beginning of this pill-chomping relationship, which kicked off with the iconic “They Meet” intermission scene in Ms. Pac Man.
- NATHAN DRAKE / ELENA FISHER (uncharted) -- Well-travelled adventurer Nathan Drake might have spent much of his life playing the field, but he’s got a soft spot for investigative reporter Elena Fisher.
- CLOUD / AERITH / TIFA (Final Fantasy VII) -- One love story wasn’t enough for Final Fantasy VII hero Cloud Strife, who recuperated from the stunning death of Aerith by finding love in childhood friend Tifa.
- DOM / MARIA (Gears of War 3) -- The tragic tale of Dominic and his wife Maria gave the unceasingly macho Gears of War trilogy more than a little heart.
- WANDERER / MONO (Shadow of the Colossus) -- What would you do to save the woman you love? If you were Shadow of the Colossus star Wanderer, you would kill 16 massive monsters, no questions asked.
- ALAN WAKE / ALICE (Alan Wake) -- Pity poor Alan Wake, who watched a nice, pleasant vacation turn into a disastrous trip through a nightmare. The only thing keeping the crazed writer sane? His love for his wife, who he was desperately trying to save.
- COMMANDER SHEPARD / LIARA (Mass Effect) -- One small step for man, one giant leap for interspecies romance. While players could choose who, exactly, Mass Effect’s Commander Shepard would romantically mingle with, his relationship with Asari researcher LIara T’Soni made headlines.
